Learning Reiki with Michael

Michael is an NCBTMB Board Approved Continuing Education Provider and member of The Reiki Fellowship.  Trained through the Reiki Training Program, Michael has been teaching Reiki since in 2006.  His practical and rational approach helps makes Reiki accessible even those approaching the subject with a healthy dose of skepticism

REIKI (USUI SHIKI RYOHO) LEVEL 1

March 2025
Part 1:  Sunday, Mar 2: 10am - 5:30pm PT

A perfect support tool for self-care, in First Degree training, you will be taught the general principles of Reiki and how to use it for self-care.  We will also cover its history and roots, and you will receive four Reiki "attunements". These attunements are focused on opening up the physical body so as to allow it to accept Reiki energy.  Through enjoyable exercises and practice you will learn how to feel energy and be taught how to give a treatment, firstly to yourself and secondly to other people. This part of the course assists the integration of the energy and gives you the tools to become a Reiki Practitioner. 

Note:  To maintain safety, all in-person classes will follow WA Department of Health guidelines for in-person instruction. 

If you cannot get to Seattle, or do feel safe attending in person classes, I will continue to offer the on-line instruction throughout the year.  Please looking back here for dates, or let me know you are interested, so I can reach out to you when I have dates set.  While there is a lot to be said for gathering in person to learn Reiki in a 2-day workshop there is also something quite wonderful about learning Reiki in small classes, in the comfort of your own space.  The topics we cover fit beautifully into a series of 4 shorter classes, allowing time for integration between each.  
 
Teaching online and in-person classes, I limit class size to 5 students.  In-person, I do this for Covid safety; by Zoom, it is so everyone can participate and feel part of the group.

​The Level II attunement strengthens Reiki energy. Level II empowers the student with the first 3 symbols of Reiki and teaches their meaning. Through these symbols a student is able to request Reiki to guide certain types of subtle energy to a recipient, and how to direct Reiki to others to give healing even at a distance. As in Level 1 training, the class includes theory and practice with time to discuss concepts, meditation exercises and practice time to try Reiki on yourself and others in the class.

This is a full Reiki Level 1 workshop, catering  for those who have a hard time letting go of rational thought!

​Something I have noticed over 15 years of teaching Reiki is that in some classes there is someone who struggles just a little more than the others.  That someone may be brand new to any kind of energy work. They may not have tried yoga or meditation, they prefer to think in straight lines and rational concepts. They may have come to a Reiki workshop to be supportive of a partner, or because they are ready to think outside the box, but then they find themselves frustrated when they find it harder than others in the group to feel energy flowing. 
 
If you doubt Reiki but are interested in exploring it anyway, or if you know someone who might enjoy this workshop, please get in touch.  During the day there will be plenty of time to explore, discuss, experiment, test, doubt and wrestle with ‘non-consensus reality’, in the company of likeminded people.  During the day we will explore the background and history of Reiki, practice working with energy, both on ourselves and with each other. All those who wish to be, will also be attuned to Reiki Level 1.

Think of it as a Reiki spa day.  For Reiki level II students and above, these workshops provide a safe space for students to develop their Reiki II techniques, to hone their skills in both hands on and absent healing and to explore ideas and questions arising from their own practice. 

​Two day workshops include Master attunements (in some Reiki systems known as Level 3 or ART).

NOTE: Learning Reiki Level 1/2 Together:  Some Reiki instructors teach Reiki Level 1 and 2 together as a 2-day class as a matter of course. Having taught this way in the past Michael does not encourage this option except for people who have explored metaphysical energy in detail and are already practiced other healing modalities. If Reiki is your first serious exploration of the subject there is simply too much to take in. Each level is exciting to explore. Savor the journey!
